Such a clean hotel. Our room was cleaned daily by the lovely Irena. The food was good. Some nights were a bit lacking for our fussy daughter. As with any all inclusive it does get a bit repetitive even with the different nightly theme - but it was all tasty. It would be nice to have coffee with lunch and dinner but sadly only available with breakfast. It was a quiet hotel could do with some evening entertainment. The all inclusive drinks weren’t the best. The wine was undrinkable on some nights. But overall I can’t fault the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel.
We asked for a late checkout which on the penultimate night was agreed at a cost of 100 euros which seems a bit steep especially as the day we arrived it was 23.30 so missed out a whole day but Poppy was helpful in arranging for us to stay in our room till 3pm.
I would 100% recommend this hotel if you want something quiet and clean.
Beautiful hotel, tasteful, modern and clean. Kept up to high standards.
The Apollon feels like an adults only hotel (only a couple of quiet children during our stay) with an chilled and relaxed vibe. The pool area is nice. Might struggle to get sun loungers when it's busier but we always managed to find one.
The room was very nice - we had a large room with a small terrace looking out onto the pool. Beds were comfortable. I was a bit cold on the first night so asked for a thicker blanket. I got it straight away and slept comfortably for the rest of the week. My only slight issue with the rooms is the use of the frosted glass bathroom doors - seems to be a common design in hotels now.
The staff really are the stars. Alona on reception was outstanding - she was super informative, helped to book our excursions, and so pleasant to chat with. Poppy is another amazing asset to the hotel. The staff cannot be faulted, including lovely housekeeping, bar and restaurant staff.
As a picky eater, the all inclusive food was ok and I always found something to eat. For the non-picky, there is plenty of good quality food available every day. Evening meals are themed. I would say there is too much pork served (even my partner who likes pork was tired of it by the end of the week!). Sometimes the food is not labelled and it can be difficult to know what is in certain dishes as there is no specific information given - may be difficult for those with dietary requirements.
The bar was good and I enjoyed the all inclusive cocktails. There is no entertainment on an evening, which could be an improvement. Kos Town is a 15-20 minute walk away if looking for things to do at night and during the day.
The gym is a typical hotel gym. It costs hourly per person and must be reserved. For any gym goers I would recommend the better equipped gym 2 minutes further up the street towards Kos Town.
Overall, we had an amazing time and I would absolutely recommend the Apollon to anyone looking for a high quality, relaxing hotel. I would happily stay here again if I was coming back to Kos.
While the facilities and the pool bar staff at Apollon Hotel were lovely, our milestone family holiday (celebrating two birthdays, including my 60th, and our wedding anniversary) was completely ruined during the final week by the management’s handling of a maintenance issue. We returned to Room 225 one afternoon to find a wardrobe mirror panel had spontaneously cracked. We reported it immediately. Instead of handling this professionally as standard property wear-and-tear, the hotel manager cornered us a few days later and aggressively demanded €60 for a replacement. He baselessly accused us of "falling into the door," simply because the maid denied breaking it.We stood our ground and refused to pay for damage we did not cause. Because the hotel did not have a credit card on file, the manager eventually backed down, and we checked out successfully with a zero balance. However, the anxiety, stress, and false accusations cast a massive shadow over what should have been a happy celebration. If you stay here, inspect your room thoroughly upon arrival and do not let management bully you into paying for structural room fatigue.
Edit:
Thank you for your response, but your explanation relies entirely on assumptions rather than facts. You state that your staff would have 'no reason to deny' breaking the mirror, completely ignoring the obvious reality that any employee would fear the professional consequences of breaking hotel property. A house-keeping department's daily inspection does not prevent structural glass fatigue or spontaneous thermal cracking, which is a well-documented phenomenon with large glass panels in air-conditioned environments. You admit that 'accidents can happen to anyone,' yet you automatically assume the accident was ours without a shred of evidence, a signed report, or an admission of guilt. Cornering guests on their 60th birthday to baselessly accuse them of 'falling into doors' is not respectful of your guests' views—it is a clear attempt to force payment. We checked out with a zero balance because you had no legal or factual basis to hold us liable. The matter, alongside your customer service handling, is now being formally investigated by TUI under UK Package Travel Regulations.
Great hotel with great staff.
Rooms - excellent
Food - All inclusive above average
Pool - people did put towels out early and I expect it gets busier in high season
Staff- all brilliant, kind and couldn't do enough. Especially Poppy on reception and the staff behind the outside bar.
Kos Town - twenty minute walk or bus stop to the left of hotel.
There are no lifts at this hotel. Not a problem for us but if you have mobility issues book a ground floor room.
Spotlessly clean hotel with a very modern stylish vibe to it.
The room was spacious and again modern, huge walk in shower and comfy beds. The maids do an excellent job daily.Free wifi and electronic safe also excellent aircon system that kicks in quickly.
We was in a private sunbed/veranda room 218 and was lucky enough to have the sun on this side from 1pm till sunset which was ideal if on a trip or at the beach to come back to id recommend this rather than the balcony rooms (we was lucky enough to have a very cheap upgrade with tui when booking for this)
The food here is excellent probably the best ive experienced, themed nights Gala/american/mexican/asian/greek/italian and mediterranean. The breakfasts are good as is dinner also a snackbar outside during dinner if wanting to stay poolside.
The walk to Kos town is fine and is around 15-20 minutes with plenty of bars/resturants/shops on the way.
Plenty of sunbeds till around 9.30-10ish though if youre an early bird and like to make the most of the sun youll get the pick of the lot after breakfast at 7.30. Guests are mainly British/German/Dutch.
All in all we had a great weeks stay and for what we paid to what this hotel offers it was a great deal. Im not sure if wed return as we prefer a hotel which is on the beach and prefer other parts of the island like kardamena though this hotel is pretty much faultless and id recommend anyone to visit. The deserts are 5⭐️ 😋!!!
