Very disappointing stay. This is marketed as a 5-star hotel, but the room we were given is tired, dated and looks nothing like the rooms shown in the photos. We raised our concerns with reception during our stay, but were simply told the hotel was fully booked and nothing could be done. To make matters worse, friends staying here at the same time were given a far more modern, refurbished room despite paying the same. It feels like a lottery as to what you get, and for a hotel charging 5-star prices, that’s simply not acceptable.
We were indeed offered another room which was a lower category on the day of arrival with no balcony. And again for two days before the end of our trip again in a lower category room. I understand decor could be slightly different but our room could be no further away from those pictures posted online . If you want I’m happy to post the pictures of my room and the room that you’re advertising and they look nothing like it. The staff in the reception I think Anna especially has been trying to help.it does not resemble what we booked. You also show a balcony that does not exist we do not have a balcony. We have a very old tired room we will take this up with booking.com on our return
I would not return to hotel
Bar staff been very good
Not a 4-star hotel: there are cockroaches
My stay at this hotel was very disappointing. Despite presenting itself as a 4-star establishment, we found cockroaches in our room. When we reported it at the front desk, we were told this was "normal," which I find unacceptable for a hotel with this rating.
The worst part wasn't just the problem itself, but the complete lack of response from the staff: they showed no empathy, offered no real solution (they only sent a housekeeper), and there was no compensation of any kind for the inconvenience.
To make matters worse, we weren't the only guests who reported cockroaches in their room, which suggests this is a recurring problem rather than an isolated case.
In summary, the way we were treated as customers was truly disappointing. I do not recommend this hotel, especially considering the price charged for a "4-star" experience.
Great location for trackdays or golf
Double bed is twin beds side by side, and beds are moving apart during the night, fell between two beds. Unacceptable in a 5star hotel!
Gym needs separate card for any idiotic reason… (why can use room keycard!?!?)
No toilet in gym (when spa is not open), hold your toilet if you go early morning or late night.
Wc leaking in rooms, balcony door couldn’t close properly… wind opens it during the night. (Room 410)
Breakfast and dinner buffet is good, but not 5 star level quality and variety (few dietary options)
The whole place was wonderful, service amazing and not snooty at all.
Rooms a bit tired but it looks like they are already starting renovation.
Would definitely stay there again
A lovely hotel with excellent staff. The spa was amazing. Unfortunately spoilt by large groups of English golfers who were inconsiderate of others staying at the hotel. However, not the fault of the hotel staff who tried their best
