I am extremely disappointed with my stay at this hotel (Room 229, July 4th - July 9th). I paid €600 expecting a relaxing annual leave, but instead, it was a complete nightmare.
For days, the hotel was incredibly noisy. People were shouting, screaming, banging, and slamming doors all day and deep into the night. It was absolutely impossible to sleep or rest. What makes it worse is that the staff completely ignored the chaos—even though the noise was so loud that it was impossible not to hear it from the reception.
To top it all off, July 7th was my birthday, which was completely ruined by stress and sleep deprivation. I even sent a formal email to the management explaining the situation and letting them know I was checking out early on July 9th at 5:00 AM, but they didn't even bother to reply or acknowledge me.
They gladly took my €600 but offered zero comfort and zero customer service. Total lack of control and respect for paying guests. I strongly advise everyone to avoid this place if you actually want to sleep and enjoy your vacation. Absolutely NOT recommended!
We are now staying in this hotel, and I’am feeling like i am in a camping. The hotel is full of teenagers, who are very noisy, we should wait for the lifts always cause they are playing.
Breakfast for 7 days has never changed, the same food every day, pineapple juice, orange juice and water. The desserts are 1/10.
For the dinner the same food every day, with few changes, for the dinner you have only water, no alcohol, no juices, soft drinks or anything else.
The hotel is old, with a little bit of cosmetic changes. The water has a smell not good. The biggest plus was that they offered us a room at 3 am, and wasn’t needed to wait until 2 pm. The staff is ok. In the room is also not so good but acceptable
⭐ ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Absolutely Fantastic Stay! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We had an absolutely wonderful time at the Canifor Hotel and couldn't have asked for a better holiday experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and always ready to help with a smile.
The Location:
It is perfectly situated in a quiet area but still very close to local restaurants, Tourist bar next and the famous Elvis bar, and the bus terminal. Getting around is so easy and everything you need is just a short walk away.
Security & Safety:
The security team are very friendly and always make you feel safe and welcome throughout your stay.
The Hotel & Rooms:
The rooms are spacious, clean, and well-maintained, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds were very comfortable, and the housekeeping team did a great job keeping everything tidy daily.
Food & Facilities:
The food at the buffet was excellent! There was a huge variety of options available for breakfast and dinner, catering to all tastes, and everything was fresh and tasty. The pool area is lovely, with plenty of space to relax, sunbathe, and enjoy a drink from the bar.
Overall:
This hotel offers amazing value for money. It is clean, safe, and has such a great atmosphere. We would definitely recommend the Canifor Hotel to anyone visiting Malta and we are already looking forward to coming back!
Highly recommended! 👍
Man where do i even start. First of all there were bugs in the room. Little ants everywhere and this one night, a big cockroach that scared my gf.
Secondly the beds were stained and the room service would not change the sheets, but they would flip them over or put the head side to the feet side to “fix it up”.
The food was edible but it was just english breakfast all day everyday and the food quality was ok.
The hotel in general was old and broken. The AC worked sometimes ok sometimes not at all.
The staff were helpful atleast and they were nice. Still i have to say AVOID AT ALL COST
Rooms a bit dated. Had leaking toilet greet us when we arrived but the staff moved us quickly. Look out for hidden charges on pool towels etc. Staff overall quite pleasant. Games room only had 1 machine working. Ok hotel. Not a 4 star but pleasant enough. Malta is lovely, Valletta is beautiful and full of history and a must see is Camino blue lagoon, beautiful and the pictures you see are a true likeness.Malta is lovely to visit and very cheap and good value for money.
