A really nice hotel 😊 The food was delicious, the rooms were clean, modern and nicely maintained, and overall you can see that the hotel puts a lot of effort into making families with children feel comfortable. There are, however, two things that unfortunately lower my overall rating. The first is the kids’ entertainment programme. It’s clear that the hotel invests a lot of money and effort into the animations. There are lots of entertainers, and the programme is varied and well thought-out. The entertainers themselves actually speak very good English, so the issue is definitely not a lack of language skills. Unfortunately, during group activities they hardly use English at all. Everything is conducted in Hungarian, even when they know there are many children in the group who don’t speak Hungarian. There were lots of children from Germany, the Czech Republic, Poland and Slovakia, and many of them simply couldn’t understand what was happening. As a result, some children and parents gave up on the activities because of the language barrier. It would take so little to solve this – simply say something in Hungarian and repeat the most important information in English. Especially since the entertainers speak English very well. So it’s not about their ability, but rather about a lack of consideration for international guests. The second thing is the stamp-collecting programme for children. The idea itself is lovely and could be a lot of fun for kids, but I found the way it was organised quite disappointing. In order to collect all the stamps, children had to complete activities that involved spending additional money – for example, buying a cocktail at the bar and signing up for a paid massage. I consider this an unfair practice, especially because it is targeted at children. Kids naturally want to collect all the stamps and complete the challenge, while the conditions encourage parents to spend additional money in order for their child to “complete” the programme. I don’t think children’s entertainment should be used in this way. Especially when parents bought all inclusive experience... These two issues unfortunately lower my overall rating of the hotel. It’s a shame, because apart from that, we had a really positive experience. The hotel itself is excellent, and with a few changes to the entertainment programme and the children’s stamp challenge, the experience could be much better and more inclusive for international families.
We had a fantastic four day stay at this hotel, and the experience couldn’t have been better. It is the perfect place for families with children, offering a wide range of activities and facilities for everyone to enjoy. My daughter loved the electric cars, the well-equipped playroom and the animation programs, while the whole family made the most of the swimming pools, the water park, and the hotel’s direct access to Lake Balaton, which made our stay even more enjoyable. The all-inclusive service was excellent, with a great variety of food and drinks available throughout the day. The staff were always friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. This was our second stay here, and we will definitely be coming back next year. We highly recommend this hotel to any family looking for an enjoyable holiday by Lake Balaton.
We have recently visited this hotel wth families and many kids this month. First I wanted to say the building from outside looks quite old compared to the pictures I have seen on the website. When I went into the room (Lido family room), the cleanliness was not as I expected to received with hotel service level, there are many flies on the floor, furniture is very old-fashioned. Air-conditioned was not cool enough even after adjusted temperature from the remote in the room and checked with the reception in the morning and being told that it is central control so I am not sure why would there is an ac remote for. Overall, I think the furnitures and some amenities & esp bowling looks quite old (old-fashioned esp bowling with chairs nearly ripped off) which I didn’t expect to see. The indoor pool is not heated and the water for both indoor and outdoor pool is very cold so not really enjoying fully with young kids. However, kids activities and all-inclusive meals are great and nice and spacious dining area.
We chose this hotel because it was the only one which offered shorter stays as 3 nights in august, we booked an early check-in from 8am, but the room wasnt ready until 11am... The food was totaly dissapointing for the adults, no flavors, potatoes half cooked, the menu was as from school caffeteria, but my kid liked it... There was no AC in the lobby or dining area, the coffe offered in the lobby bar was from the same shit as at breakfast... rooms and the dining area were not cleaned properly, some parts of the hotel as the indoor swimming pool and the bowling area were stuck in the last century. The outdoors were great, the kids adventure pool was great, the food at the beach restaurant was edible, we loved the beach, which literaly saved our stay there from being a total disaster, although almost every other entertainment for the kids outdoors was for additional fees which was dissapointing. Although the hotel disclaims its kids friendly, the evenings at the lobby bar are not, during our stay there was an incident which required police intervention and medical care because of aggressive behaviour of one of the guests, the hotel should not offer limitless alcohol consumption in the lobby bar. Not going back ever.
As a Dutch family, we really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Marina in Balatonfüred. The location is simply perfect – right on the lake with a private beach and plenty of shade under the trees. Our kids loved the pools, mini-golf, and the safe shallow water of Lake Balaton. The staff were very friendly and helpful, always smiling and ready to assist. The all-inclusive food and drinks were good, with plenty of variety, though sometimes a bit too salty for our taste. Snacks and drinks during the day made it easy to stay on the property without worrying about meals. The rooms are quite small and a bit dated, but they were clean and comfortable for a few nights. We were mostly outside enjoying the garden, beach, and activities, so this was not a big problem for us. Evening entertainment is nice for young kids, but if you have teenagers, there might be less to do for them. Overall, we had a very relaxing family holiday and would recommend Hotel Marina for anyone looking for an easy, affordable all-inclusive stay at Lake Balaton.
