Extremely disappointing start to our holiday. We arrived at Gloria Verde at 3:30 a.m. because, as Ukrainians, we had no other flight options. We were not asking for early access to our room we were simply asking to be allowed to wait inside the lobby until morning. Instead, the hotel refused to even open the gates, forcing us to remain outside in the middle of the night. As paying guests, we felt completely unwelcome. We were repeatedly told that "these are the rules" and that guests are not allowed to enter the lobby before 6:00 a.m. Rather than trying to find a reasonable solution or showing any understanding, the managers simply referred to the policy. We expected far more flexibility and empathy from a five-star hotel. After a long and exhausting journey, this was the last thing we expected. Instead of feeling welcomed, we felt ignored, humiliated, and deeply disappointed. I sincerely hope the management reviews both this policy and the attitude of its staff. No guest should ever be left outside a hotel at 3:30 a.m., regardless of internal rules. A hotel that leaves exhausted guests outside its gates in the middle of the night cannot truly call itself a luxury resort. Gloria Verde chose to enforce its rules instead of taking care of its guests, and that says everything about its priorities. If this is the standard of customer service that Gloria Verde considers acceptable, then it simply does not deserve its five-star reputation.
We chose Gloria Hotels & Resorts because it was advertised as family-friendly. The hotel itself is quite quiet and pleasant. The food is varied, and the staff are responsive – for example, our first room had a strong smell that did not go away even after an hour, and we were moved to another room without any problem. You can also take a transfer to the Serenity part of the hotel if you wish. However, the main problem is the spa (hammam) policy. Children aged 9 and 12 are only allowed to use the hammam between 13:00 and 15:00 – with parental supervision. Outside these two hours, they are completely banned. This is lunchtime, the most inconvenient slot of the day for families. The hotel claims it is for safety and comfort, but if safety is the issue, parental supervision solves it. If comfort is the issue, then the hotel openly prioritises adults over children – even though families pay full price.
Disappointing experience for a family with children – Gloria Verde Resort Far below 5-star standards – Hygiene issues and absolute lack of flexibility. We spent a 6-night vacation at Gloria Verde Resort as a family of 2 adults and 2 children (aged 3 and 8). Unfortunately, our experience was far from pleasant, and we believe this hotel does not deserve its current rating. What disappointed us the most: * Poor restaurant hygiene: Right from the first day, my husband suffered from severe stomach pain. It is no surprise, considering that flies were buzzing everywhere in the main restaurant, right over the food. Later on, I even found a hair in my food, which is completely unacceptable. * Superficial housekeeping: During our 6-day stay, our room was cleaned only 3 times. * No hot water: One evening, we were unable to wash our children after the beach because there was absolutely no hot water in the shower. * Outdated and degraded infrastructure: The hotel is in desperate need of renovation. Even the water slides at the aquapark are cracked/broken in some places, posing a real safety hazard for children. * Difficult beach access: The path to and from the sea requires crossing a hill. This route was extremely exhausting and difficult to navigate daily, especially while pushing a stroller. * Lack of hospitality at check-out: Although I was willing to pay an exorbitant fee of 260 euros for a mere 3-hour room extension (for the children's comfort), the reception flatly refused, claiming the room was already booked, without offering any other reasonable solution. Conclusion: We definitely do not recommend this hotel for families with young children. The price paid does not reflect the quality of the services provided. The lack of hygiene, degraded facilities, and rigid staff completely ruined our holiday.
An Absolutely Perfect Stay!Our experience at Gloria Verde Resort was outstanding from start to finish. Everything about this hotel is at an exceptionally high level. The service was top-notch, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcome.The food was absolutely incredible with amazing variety and quality. Literally everything was in absolute perfection. We highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a premium holiday experience!
I have stayed in over 15 hotels in Turkey. The hotel was advertised as being very family-friendly. Unfortunately and completely unreasonably, kids aged 9 and 12 are not allowed in the hammam, even with parental supervision (first time.in my experienc). I do not call that family-friendly or simply reasonable.
