Loved the location, our Africa suite, service was excellent among the staff, restaurant excellent service as well and culinary food. They arranged 2 excellent tour guides for us. One was private on my 60th birthday! The jeep tour to the highlands was for 3 couples only! Had the honor to meet the owner of the hotel who was amazingly down to earth! We can’t wait to go back.
Stunning small luxury hotel we stayed one night during our trip. Rooms were small but comfortable. Outside hottub is looking to the stunning view of river, wild summer flowers, birds chirping around and absolutely peaceful. Breakfast buffet has a rich selection and coffee was delicious.
Beautiful little family-owned inn along the south coast. The owner actually met us at check in and couldn’t have been nicer, the room was large with great views of the Ranga river, hot tubs alongside the river, and an outstanding restaurant and cute bar. highly recommend as a place if you’re in this part of southern Iceland!
Hotel Ranga. Charming lodge style hotel. Solid 4 star with fantastic amenities. Complimentary bottle of wine for booking direct. Body lotion included (a big plus - none of the less expensive 3 stars offer body lotion). Robes and slippers too. Down and feather pillows and comforter with cool sheets is a huge plus. Hot tub overlooking a field. We started our stay with welcome drinks at the bar and ended our stay with a wonderful hot breakfast included (that was great after the same Icelandic continental breakfast offered at the 3 stars). It’s definitely worth the extra cost for a superior experience. We will be back ! (Standard room is small but the bathroom is decent size)
Hotel Ranga was our first night spent in Iceland on our Honeymoon. We got in late but were taken care of by their bartender Peter who made us wonderful drinks and gave suggestions from their bar menu. We unfortunately did not get to try their Michelin Guide rated dinner. If you want to feel like you are staying at a friend's beautiful hunting lodge, this is the place. It is on a gorgeous landscape, feels cozy, and offers hot tubs, sauna, and breakfast. Their attention to detail in making our honeymoon special was a touch we miss out on in most US hotels now.
