Absolutely amazing. Our first family holiday set the bar unbelievably high. We came with high expectations, and somehow it still exceeded them. We were completely blown away. The staff are phenomenal and really made the whole experience feel special. The only small suggestion would be to add a bar at the adults-only pool or perhaps have a beach bar open late into the evening? It felt like the one thing missing was a vibey spot for adults to hang out and get to know each other if they wanted to. A few casual adults’ events, like a pub quiz or more of the live music, would be such a nice addition and give us parents a chance to mingle a bit. But genuinely, such an incredible family holiday. We absolutely loved it. We’ll be back!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Our family had an amazing stay at Martinhal Sagres Family Beach Resort! From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by the friendly staff and the beautiful surroundings. The resort is perfectly designed for families, with fantastic pools, playgrounds, kids’ activities, and direct access to a stunning beach. The accommodations were spacious, spotless, and very comfortable. The restaurants offered delicious food with plenty of options for both adults and children. Our kids had an incredible time, and it was wonderful to be able to relax knowing there was always something fun for them to do. The location in Sagres is breathtaking, with beautiful ocean views and a peaceful atmosphere. If you’re looking for a luxury family holiday in Portugal, I can’t recommend Martinhal Sagres enough. We made wonderful memories here and can’t wait to return! Forgot to mention the kids club. Awesome!!
A wonderful family getaway — we'll definitely be back! We recently stayed at Martinhal and it was, overall, a perfect trip. This hotel truly stands out as one of the best family-friendly resorts we've ever visited. From the moment we arrived, it was clear that every single detail has been thoughtfully designed with families in mind. The rooms are extremely comfortable and come equipped with all the practical accessories you could need — nothing felt missing. The setting is simply stunning, and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. The breakfast buffet deserves a special mention: it is incredibly generous, varied and delicious. A real highlight of each morning! More broadly, the food offering is excellent and the half-board option represents great value. Martinhal delivered a truly memorable family holiday. The combination of comfort, stunning surroundings, exceptional food and genuine family-friendly spirit makes it a place we wholeheartedly recommend. We will absolutely return!
We stayed in an Ocean House for 7 nights as a family of five, including a baby. Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The resort is beautiful, with stunning views, and the reception team was always friendly, professional, and welcoming. Housekeeping The cleanliness was below the standard we have experienced at other 5-star resorts in Austria, Germany, Switzerland, and Italy. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, the room floor was not cleaned daily, and we found large spiders and spider webs in several corners. Housekeeping also didn’t seem to pay attention to details—for example, on two occasions they placed dirty dishes back into the cupboard because the dishwasher had never been started. Dining Our biggest disappointment was the Half Board experience at Os Gambozinos. There was repeated confusion about what was included, and our bill was incorrect four times during our stay. Although the first issue was eventually resolved, the restaurant’s mistake meant that two adults were only able to use one person’s Half Board entitlement on our first dinner. At the end of our stay, the incorrect charges were removed, but we never received an apology or any gesture of goodwill. We didn’t feel our time or experience was respected. The service in the restaurant was also inconsistent. Some staff members were warm and welcoming, while others seemed impatient when dealing with questions or billing issues. At checkout, it took four different staff members and around 40 minutes to resolve the restaurant bill while we were rushing to catch our flight. This could have been avoided with better communication between departments. Room Amenities Only one complimentary bottle of water was provided on the first day, and coffee capsules were not replenished daily. If guests arrive late after nearby shops are closed, the only option is to order paid room service just for drinking water, which doesn’t feel appropriate for a luxury resort. Service For a resort of this size, I believe a dedicated concierge or butler service would greatly improve the guest experience and avoid unnecessary confusion between departments. Overall, the service still has room for improvement. While I understand that many guests are from the UK and the US, every guest deserves the same level of respect, attention, and care. The resort itself is beautiful and has great potential. With better housekeeping, stronger communication between teams, and more consistent service, it could truly deliver the 5-star experience it aims to offer.

Everything about our stay was outstanding, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible service. Every single staff member we encountered was thoughtful, gentle, kind, and super professional. It is incredibly rare to find a resort where everyone is genuinely smiling and so eager to make your stay perfect. It is not easy to find a similar experience anywhere else! We traveled with our kids, and they absolutely loved all the facilities, the kid-friendly food, and the dedicated play areas. The best part? Because the kids were having so much fun and were so well catered to, it actually gave us parents a bit of space to relax and enjoy our meals in peace! The property itself is impeccably clean. The room service was also top-notch—always quick, completely accurate, and our room was kept spotless throughout our stay. What made this trip extra special was that we were also celebrating our honeymoon. We were so touched and deeply appreciated the beautiful surprise waiting for us upon arrival: a lovely bottle of champagne and our bed beautifully decorated with roses. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made us feel so celebrated. I have absolutely nothing but good things to say about our time here. We will definitely be coming back, and I have already shared our fantastic experience with our extended family so they can experience it for themselves.
