Mera Resort advertises itself as a family and kid-friendly hotel, but if your children’s health is important to you, I strongly recommend looking elsewhere. The biggest issue is that management allows guests to smoke everywhere without any restriction. We constantly had people smoking right next to the kids' club, in and around the pools, on the restaurant terraces, across all public areas, and even directly during the kids' mini disco and evening shows while children were gathered around. It’s a huge disappointment because the facilities themselves are actually great. The pools and waterslides are lovely, the food is generous with plenty of variety, and the evening entertainment is genuinely fun and engaging for the little ones. However, no amount of nice amenities can make up for having your kids breathe secondhand smoke all day long. Until management institutes and actually enforces strict non-smoking policies around all public areas, I cannot recommend this resort to health-conscious families.

Very peaceful location, perfect for families. Good food variety and entertainment. The villa rooms were clean, cozy and private. Will come back again for sure!
For around 3 days we had a power outage. The food that was served had flies around it. There was no fresh juice, only lemonade that did not taste like lemonade. Around the main area with the pool and the restaurant, it was mostly dirty and full of people. The beach was awful. The sand is full of shells and therefore it is spiky and hurts. The water is mostly clean but there are holes. The bar was very far and did not have that many things to offer. A frappe or cone ice cream would have been appreciated. The beach was also not cleaned frequently and the "wooden umbrellas" were just about ready to disintegrate. Also there is a long way to go to the beach, therefore the pools were kind of full. In conclusion: not the worst but not really worth the money.
