The Kids Club is absolutely wonderful! The staff are incredibly friendly, caring, and attentive with the children. They make every child feel welcome, safe, and happy. The kids have so much fun with the activities, and it’s clear they are in very good hands. It’s reassuring to know they are looked after with so much kindness and care. I highly recommend this Kids Club!
We have had a lovely family holiday here. The main hotel is modern and well kept, and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We were a little disappointed that our cliffside T1 room felt tired and dated and would definitely benefit from a refurb, but the space it provides for a family with two young children is great. I would note, however, that the sofa bed is quite small and probably wouldn’t comfortably fit two children much older than around 7.
The breakfast buffet was fantastic and the half-board dinner options were varied. We did eat elsewhere a couple of nights and, comparatively, the half-board option was excellent value for money.
The kids very much enjoyed the kids’ club, with lots of different activities provided and the opportunity for us parents to have a couple of hours of peace and quiet! The staff were warm and welcoming and remembered the kids’ names from session to session, which helped them settle quickly.
The pool is very large and has excellent step and ramp access, although we found it quite chilly. The indoor pool was warmer and shallower and suited our younger children better.
Overall, we would stay here again, particularly as the last-minute discount we received made it very good value for money. That said, there were a few things that fell short of what we would expect from a true 5-star experience, especially compared with other places we have stayed in Portugal on this trip. The main things were the tired room, bathrooms that were missing some typical toiletries such as conditioner, slightly disappointing shower pressure in one bathroom, and the lack of hotel sunbeds on an otherwise amazing beach.
We also noticed that the pool has a plasticky liner which was quite stained in places, possibly with algae. Some of this rubbed onto the children’s swimsuits when they climbed out, although thankfully it washed off easily.
Overall, though, these are relatively minor points in what was otherwise a very enjoyable family stay. The friendly staff, excellent food, great kids’ club and fantastic beach access were all definite positives, and we would happily return.
We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The property itself is beautiful, and our room was located right by the pool with a fantastic sea view, which made our stay even more enjoyable.
Breakfast was included and is highly recommended. There was a wide variety of fresh, high-quality food, and everything tasted excellent.
The location is another big advantage. The hotel is directly next to the beach and has a private access road that is only open to hotel guests. This is especially convenient if you have a rental car, as it provides extra security and peace of mind.
As expected for Portugal’s Atlantic coast, the water is a bit cooler, especially in July when we visited. It was perfectly fine for us, but some people might find it a little too cold.
The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout our stay. We did have one small issue with housekeeping: they accidentally threw away medication boxes that still contained medication because they probably assumed they were empty. Fortunately, this happened on the second-to-last day of our stay, so it wasn’t a major problem. The hotel staff immediately did everything they could to help us recover the medication, and we really appreciated their effort and professionalism.
Overall, we had a fantastic experience and would happily stay here again. Five stars!
Let me start with the positives. The hotel's location is stunning, and although the property is a bit dated, it is well maintained and has a charming appearance. The staff were also very friendly and welcoming throughout our stay.
However, there were some hiccups. Upon arrival (at 4 p.m.) our room was not ready and we had to wait. We received some vouchers for drinks for the wait but it is not something that you expect after a long trip. What disappointed us most was the food. Its quality was rather average overall. On some days it was acceptable, but on others it was well below expectations. Considering the price of the stay, it was also disappointing that even water was not included with dinner and had to be purchased separately.
In addition, the restaurant's seating system seemed unnecessarily complicated and resulted in long queues both when entering and leaving the dining area. Guests first had to wait to be seated and then wait again to sign or pay for their drinks. There were also several occasions when we received the wrong drinks or did not receive the ones we had ordered at all.
Overall, my biggest issue with this hotel is that it does not offer good value for the price. While there are certainly some strong points, the overall experience did not justify the cost. The hotel aspires for 5 stars but does not live up to it.
Room. Perfectly nice and bed comfortable. They seem to have no maintenance plan as room was handed over with the shower head pointing at the wall did a quick fix. Service Need more staff. Only one bar at night and if football is on!! Not what would like in a so called classy hotel. Pool. Very nice plenty of beds and shade...but come on, lots putting a towel down on the beds routinely then heading off to breakfast or a late start. Evening buffet over priced. Plenty of places off site to get good not to expensive food. Position on the beach great.
