The service was extraordinary. The rooms were clean. The breakfast buffet was expansive. The pool had nice features (bubble seats and water fall). It was also a short walk to the Adriatic Sea for swimming. The trip to the Pile Gate (old city) was 10-15 minutes by car. I have to mention again that the staff was friendly and helpful.

The hotel is extremely clean and tidy. Rooms are lovely and have everything you need. Check in was very easy. The pools have the most amazing views of the sea. No need to get up early for the sunbed fights as there are plenty. The restaurant food is amazing plenty of choice for everyone to enjoy the top quality cuisine. All staff throughout the whole hotel are very polite and friendly you get luxury service. I would highly recommend this hotel

Everything was great. Hotel is beautiful, service is great, we really enjoyed spending time in the swimming pool with amazing view but also took some tours. Food in the main restaurant (Mediterranean) was good with many buffet choices for breakfast and dinner. Massage at the spa was one of the best. The only things that we would appreciate is if rooms also had a decaf coffee in addition to regular coffee. Also Olive restaurant does not have any healthy options, especially which are gluten and dairy free. Only meat is deep fried or comes with pasta. There are only 2 healthy choices: tuna and seafood risotto which is difficult to eat every day.

Just back from a fab 10 day holiday at the Valamar Argosy, there was lots to like! Great hotel, very friendly staff, clean, modern, good food and comfy beds. We had the choice of the main buffet restaurant or the Oliva grill. We ate in the buffet most nights and lunched in the Oliva. There are 2 main pools with excellent views out over the approaches to Dubrovnik harbour. The old town is stunning and dead easy to get to as the hotel is the end stop for bus no. 6. It's a 2 minute walk from the hotel to the bus stop and the last stop, about a 10 minute ride away, is Dubrovnik old town. Top tip, buy a Dubrovnik card to save money on bus rides and access to the city walls. Walking the walls is a great thing to do, we went around 4-5 in the afternoon when the cruise ship passengers had all gone and the walls were pleasantly quiet. The old town is simply stunning, which is amazing considering it was shelled heavily in the war just 30 years ago. We spent hours just walking the backstreets. We ate at restaurant Marco Polo one evening and enjoyed an excellent meal, highly recommended. The Valamar staff really were tremendous. Our thanks goes to Nikola, Kristijan, Philipe and Petra for making our holiday special as well as Javanna V for teaching us a few words of Croatian..zivjeli!

A very disappointing experience for a hotel in this price category. The room cleaning was not acceptable: the floor was not properly cleaned or vacuumed. We asked for extra towels, but our first request was completely ignored. Only after asking a second time was our request finally fulfilled. The toilet paper was not replaced after it ran out. The toilet flush button was also in very poor condition, looking old and worn, with visible oxidation marks. Regarding the room, we were expecting a room with a private balcony, but only after arrival did we find out that the balcony was shared with the neighboring rooms. This was not clearly communicated beforehand. The bed was also disappointing: instead of a proper double bed, there were two separate beds pushed together, which easily slide apart and are not comfortable. The food quality was below expectations as well. Several dishes were not prepared properly, and all desserts were tasteless. During dinner, we asked for a simple jug of water, but this was not provided. It is surprising that this is not included in a half-board package at this price level, forcing guests to buy expensive bottled drinks instead. When someone pays more than 1,000 euros for a few days’ stay, they expect a much higher standard of service, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
