We recently stayed at the Baglioni Resort Sardinia and had mixed feelings about our experience. The property itself is beautiful, the beach is spectacular, and many of the staff members were warm and welcoming. Unfortunately, several issues significantly detracted from what should have been a luxury experience.
The most frustrating issue was that we were informed just one day before our arrival that, due to what was described as a hotel booking error, we would be required to change rooms on the final day of our stay. This meant interrupting a relaxing beach day, packing all of our belongings, and moving to another room during our vacation—something that should never happen at a five-star resort.
To make matters worse, our original room developed a water leak that persisted for several days. While staff attempted to address it, it was disappointing that a room at this level had an ongoing maintenance issue.
Management acknowledged these problems and offered to refund the final night’s stay as a gesture of goodwill, which we appreciated. However, the communication afterward has been disappointing. Despite multiple follow-ups, the hotel has been unable or unwilling to provide even the refund amount or clear details about when the credit will be processed. For a luxury property, I expected far greater transparency and proactive communication.
This resort has tremendous potential, and there were many aspects of our stay that we enjoyed. However, the way these issues were handled fell well short of the level of service one expects from a hotel in this price category. I hope management improves both its operational processes and its communication with guests when problems arise.
Our stay at Baglioni was truly exceptional. The property is immaculate, the dining experience is outstanding, and the level of service is nothing short of world-class.
What made our visit especially memorable was the incredible staff.
Valery and Antonio P at the front desk set the tone from the moment we arrived with their professionalism and warmth.
Mamadou, the driver, was always prompt and thoughtful, ensuring we had fresh towels and cold water when getting us to and from the beach.
Nicolette was a delight at every meal, whether at breakfast or dinner, bringing both attentiveness and genuine charm to each interaction.
Antonio C stood out for his kindness and care, always ready to assist us around the property and with our luggage via golf cart.
Each of them contributed to making our stay feel seamless, personal, and truly special. We are deeply grateful and look forward to returning.
We really enjoyed our stay, well maintained resort with spacious rooms and amenities
Beach and sea are simply spectacular - great place to enjoy what nature offers and relax in the Mediterranean waters
Breakfast spread was really nice you will find everything you want, but we were not as satisfied with Mirto, the onsite restaurant, for lunch and dinner - if you have a car I highly recommend exploring nearby towns only 10- 15 mins away. We enjoyed evenings in downtown San Teodoro.
Service at Baglioni Resort is great, and staff are always smiling and ready to help.
We loved the spa, used the sauna and steam room almost daily and we loved our massages
If you are looking for a clean and relaxing resort, albeit pricey, on the East side of Sardinia, I highly recommend it
We stayed at Baglioni Resort Sardinia with my family — two adults and two children, aged 9 and 6 — for seven nights in July 2026, and overall we had a very good experience.
The highlights were definitely the hotel’s location, the nearby beach — and what a beach it is! — and the beach service, with umbrellas and sunbeds included. Breakfast was also very good. Mirto restaurant, however, was fine but not particularly outstanding.
Although the hotel is not directly beachfront, the beach is close enough, but guests should be prepared for about a 10-minute walk. That said, golf carts are available and can take you most of the way, up until the point where you need to cross the lagoon.
Some areas for improvement would be adding water activities at the beach, offering food and beverage service directly on the beach, and providing easier access to cold filtered water on demand, especially on very hot days, either near the rooms or in the rooms.
A special mention goes to the excellent service from the staff in general, and especially the reception and car valet team — Federico was fantastic — as well as the beach service team. Paolo was extremely attentive and truly made our time at the beach a pleasure. Grazie mille!
Overall, I had a pleasant stay at Baglioni Resort Sardinia last year. The location is excellent, the beach is beautiful, and the proximity to the airport makes it very convenient.
The rooms felt a little dated and there were some maintenance issues during my stay, including having to change rooms after a problem with the door. The restaurant was good, although I found the breakfast selection somewhat limited. I also noticed an incorrect restaurant charge on my bill at checkout, but the team resolved it once it was identified.
The beach is definitely one of the highlights, though I would have appreciated more service available directly on the beach beyond water.
While I feel the pricing is on the high side for the overall experience, the stunning beach and location are reasons I would consider returning.
Tavolara is a small island off the northeast coast of Sardinia, Italy. The island is a limestone massif 5 kilometres (3 miles) long and 1 kilometre (0.6 miles) wide, with steep cliffs except at its ends. Its highest point, Monte Cannone, is 565 metres (1,854 feet) above sea level.
The Basilica of San Simplicio is a Basilica in Olbia, northern Sardinia, Italy. It was built in the late 11th century on a small hill, once located outside the city walls, used since the Carthaginian times as a cemetery area. In the area already existed a Palaeo-Christian church, built most likely between 594 and 611, which in turn was located near a Roman temple.
Molara is an island in north-eastern Sardinia and constitutes, together with the island of Tavolara, Molarotto, the peninsula of Punta Coda Cavallo and other minor rocks, a protected marine park. Of a granite nature, it has an area of 3,411 km2 and reaches, with Punta la Guardia, 158 m u.s.l. Its name, of medieval origin, is probably due to the rounded and uniform shape of the island, similar to a
The Giants' grave of Su Mont'e s'Abe is a tomb located near Olbia in Gallura North-East Sardinia, Italy. Like other giants' tombs of Gallura, it was built in two main phases of construction.
