Bedbugs
We stayed at this hotel for one week. After every night, we noticed multiple extremely itchy red bites on our bodies. On the second-to-last morning, we realized they were caused by bedbugs.
I went to the bathroom and found a bedbug lying upside down on the ledge above the toilet, directly below the air vent. This made me worry that the problem might not have been limited to just one room.
Bedbugs are extremely difficult and expensive to get rid of. After returning home, we took every precaution possible. Straight from the airport, we paid to have our belongings frozen, froze everything else we could ourselves, and washed our clothes at 60-90°C. Despite all of this, we are now dealing with suspected bedbugs at home as well.
The way the hotel handled the situation has been just as disappointing. At first, they acknowledged the problem and promised a €157 refund. However, one month later, I still have not received it. I was told that my banking details were incorrect, which they were not. Nevertheless, I immediately provided my bank details again to avoid any further delays. After that, my messages went unanswered for weeks. Only after I mentioned leaving a public review did I receive another apology and was told the refund would be processed. It still has not been paid.
The €157 itself is not the main issue. The real issue is how poorly this situation has been handled after the hotel acknowledged the problem.
I hope this review helps others make an informed decision before booking here. I truly hope no one else has to experience what we did, turning a dream vacation into a bedbug nightmare.
We would like to give great praise to Supervisor Eva and Diana.
They provided us with excellent service and truly did everything they could to help us. It took over an hour, and at the same time they also had to take care of other guests at the reception. Even so, they stayed calm, professional, and did not give up.
They were very welcoming, kind, and good at communicating throughout the whole process. They listened to us, explained everything in a proper and respectful way, and did their very best to find a solution.
This is exactly what we call good service. We felt taken seriously and very well treated, and for that reason we would like to especially highlight Eva and Diana for their effort, patience, and professionalism.
Thank you very much for a really good experience at the reception. 🙏♥️

The hotel offers excellent value for money.
The location is good, about 2 km from Riga Old Town. It is easy to reach the city centre by public transport, electric scooter or even on foot. Free parking in a gated car park was a big advantage.
Our room was spacious and had a comfortable king-size bed with two soft pillows (for both of us) and cosy duvets. There was also a small fridge with enough space for our own drinks and snacks. The view overlooked the parking lot, but in the distance we could also see a park and the Ferris wheel, which was a nice bonus.
The breakfast was good with a nice selection of food. The reception staff were friendly, and communication in English was easy. We also liked that the hotel has a souvenir shop where you can buy not only souvenirs but also drinks, snacks and basic toiletries. There is also a hotel bar, restaurant and a spa offering treatments such as massages. Overall, the hotel felt comfortable and welcoming.
There were only a few minor downsides. The room had one table, but otherwise there was very little counter or storage space. The bathroom only had a narrow glass shelf above the sink, which was not very practical for toiletries or makeup bags. The hand towels were placed on a low rail underneath the sink and kept falling off. The room felt stuffy when we first arrived, but after opening the window and turning on the air conditioning, the air became fresh and stayed comfortable for the rest of our stay. Breakfast was only served until 10 a.m. on weekdays, which felt too early.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would happily recommend this hotel.
We stayed at Bellevue Park Hotel Riga for one night as a couple, and overall we had a nice experience.
One of the best parts of the stay was the beautiful view from the balcony, especially at night. The balcony itself was spacious enough to sit and enjoy the view, which made the stay more relaxing. The room was comfortable, and the bed was nice for a short stay.
The breakfast was good with a decent variety. We enjoyed the coffee, pastries, and other options available in the buffet. The restaurant and dining area were also very pleasant and nicely designed.
Another highlight was the hotel lobby and guest waiting area, which looked modern and elegant. It gives a very good first impression when entering the hotel. There is also a massage chair available in the lobby area (paid option) which is a nice extra feature for guests.
However, since this is listed as a 4-star hotel, there are a few things that could be improved. The windows in the room were not completely clean, and the balcony area didn’t seem properly cleaned, which slightly affected the overall impression.
The smell in the room wasn’t bad, but it also wasn’t very pleasant. Usually hotel rooms have a fresh or relaxing scent, but here it felt a bit neutral or slightly off.
The spa area was quite small, and unfortunately there was a very strong chemical smell from cleaning products. Normally spa areas have a light relaxing scent, but here it was much stronger and uncomfortable. Because of this, we couldn’t stay long in the spa area and it even made me feel a bit sick.
Overall, the hotel has great potential, a nice location, beautiful views, and comfortable rooms, but some cleanliness and atmosphere details could be improved to fully match the 4-star standard.
I had a very good experience staying at this hotel. The location is great, with tram and bus stops nearby, making it easy to get around the city. Taxis were also very easy to find whenever needed.
The room was comfortable and clean, and the overall stay felt smooth and hassle-free. A good option if you want convenient transport access and a comfortable stay in Riga.
