My partner and I stayed here for 4 nights and we both really enjoyed our stay. The room and our bathroom was nice, the actual hotel looks lovely too. The hotel breakfast was decent, we both enjoyed it, my partner who is vegetarian felt he had enough options to have a decent breakfast in the morning. The staff we spoke to were kind and helpful, especially the young girl with black hair whose names didn’t get, but she was very helpful! The hotel is right next to a big park that we enjoyed walking through and there is a Maxxima pretty close to us so we could get snacks, the only reason we have the location 4 stars is because we had to get buses to old town and the centre, and all the bars next to the hotel were very expensive so we had to get a bus elsewhere, but that’s a very minor issue. Overall a very nice hotel!
Stayed at the Monica Centrum Hotel, Riga for 2 nights - June 30th and July 1st 2026.
The positives are as follows:
1) Very centrally located
2) Good WiFi - with security password
3) Clean rooms
4) Sauna on site
The areas for improvement are as follows:
1) The hotel, furnishings and building - are all old. The furnishings and carpet definitely show their age.
2) The very STEEP & very NARROW incline on entering the hotel is DEFINITELY NOT for taking bags up. Not sure what the builder had in mind when he designed this adjacent to the steps.
3) The breakfast buffet was limited and definitely could be improved.
4) The hotel advertises that it has massage options. I checked twice and there is no massage available on site.
5) Lastly and very important due to the heat summer, due to climate change that is taking place all over the globe - the AC is way, way below par and does NOT do anything at all. In addition they do no offer fans for the rooms - when I requested them for one.
I would consider the Radisson or some other hotel if I were visiting Riga again.
Good option for a Riga stay 🏨✨
Monika Centrum Hotels is located in Riga’s embassy district, which feels calm and elegant. We stayed in a Suite with windows overlooking the main street. The rooms are already asking for renovation, but they are still comfortable enough for a good rest.
Breakfast was good, and the hotel also has a private sauna, which can be booked in advance — a very nice bonus 🧖♂️.
Hotel parking is very limited, but there is paid parking nearby. Overall, a solid choice for visiting Riga.
Positive things first: reasonable price for a three night stay, breakfast, location, staff, clean room.
Negative things or things that need improvement: pillows, air conditioner (because of the hot weather we had to keep it on every time we were in the room and it was really noisy), the room was rather small.
lovely hotel, stayed for four nights. we stayed in the deluxe suite which was lovely and spacious, the safe didn’t work but it wasn’t the end of the world. definitely a bit dated but still comfortable and warm. balcony was nice. breakfast was decent, a regular continental breakfast with a variety of choice. the staff bought us a fruit platter for our anniversary which was very thoughtful. doesn’t always feel super secure as the front desk is often empty and you don’t need a keycard for the lifts. short walk from the old town but away from the tourism. overall lovely little hotel, feels a bit like a place that time has forgotten but served its purpose. thank you!
