The room was spacious and the bed was excellent. There is s spa, which, although not that big, had lots of great saunas. The snow-sauna (which is actually like sitting outside) and the salt sauna were my favourites. Good drinks and not too growded. The changingrooms are unisex with separate changingrooms. The walk to the center takes about 10 minutes and there are nice walkways just next to the hotel. Bike rentals are available.
This is our second time staying here, and definitely our last. Unfortunately, this visit has been one disappointment after another.
The rooms are outdated and not very clean, with dirty walls, worn-out yellowish bathrobes, extremely thin blankets, and no kettle.
The worst issue is the shower: very weak water pressure and sudden bursts of literally scalding hot water every minute. When I complained at reception, I was told that “nobody else complains about the hot water” and offered another room. However, we came as a group, and I used the showers in other rooms — exactly the same problem.
Breakfast has a very limited selection, and the hotel in general clearly needs renovation. Even the pool mosaic is deteriorating and can scrape your feet.
The positives are that dogs are allowed for €20 per night and the spa area itself is quite nice. But overall, very disappointing. We won’t be coming back.
This was my second time visiting this spa. While the facilities are not the newest or most modern, the spa area itself is one of the nicest I have experienced in Pärnu.
We stayed in a four-person room with a bunk bed, which worked well for our group. The only downside was that the room was quite hot—we had to keep the window open throughout the night and during most of our stay.
On the positive side, the warmth extended to the spa area and even the morning swimming pool, which we really appreciated. In many places, only the saunas feel warm, but here the overall temperature was consistently comfortable.
A nice bonus worth mentioning: the staff informed us that after check-out, guests can continue using the spa area for an additional two hours free of charge. We didn’t take advantage of this offer during our stay, but it’s definitely something to keep in mind for next time.
Viking Spa has tidy, practical rooms with basic equipment, more than good enough for few days stay, nothing fancy, but bathrooms could be slightly better for getting my higher grading.
Breakfast was sufficient, they could maybe serve a bit wider selection of fruit etc. to have a bit more fresh offering.
The real value of this hotel is of course the spato which I could give maybe 4.2-4.5 stars especially for the saunas.
I know spas where they charge extra for sauna areas or spas with many pools and slides, but only limited amount of saunas, Viking Spa has cold/freezing room and salt sauna as specialities (unfortunately they were under renovation on Feb 2026), but based on my previous visit they were definately wortg visit. Nor sure if best for smaller kids, but for adults, pairs and families with perhaps slightly older kids who aren't desperately after water slides this is a nice spa. Not too big though and if they had even a short normal pool suitable for diving the place would be even better. On roof they have that extra hot sauna which was of course our teenagers' favourite.
All in all I'll definately visit again as the salt sauna was my favourite and haven't seen those elsewhere.
Friendly attitude from personnel. Room with sauna is good, however the shower could be cleaner. Nice spa, but a bit crowded on Saturdays. Overall quite good experience.
